CHANGING LIVES @ ENYIOMA FOUNDATION.
A saying goes thus; that vehicle mechanics have made it difficult for people to different between them and mad people,
owing to how tattered their work clothes appear. Same can also be said of Politicians.
Many PoliTRICKcians on their own are a bunch of tainted and emergency philanthropists, who have made it difficult for people to differentiate them from real ones.
Philanthropism that is genuine, authentic and devoid of underground political intentions is the real deal, which is remarkably different from the type in discuss.
Nigeria is passing through the worst phase of its economic life, where food inflation has risen to over 200%, standard of living has tanked to the lowest, family disposable income has been obliterated, no access to health care, insecurity etc; yet no politician masquerading as a philanthropist has extended their milk of kindness to the poorest of the poor and vulnerable. The indigents are left to fend for themselves because their is no immediate political reward or political office contest at stake for them to exploit, using philanthropism.
Conversely, the story would have been different for these poor people, if the current economic crunch is happening close to a general election.
All emergency philanthropists would have creeped out from every corner with mouth watering goodies for the needy; bags of rice would have been finding their way to families, payment of hospital bills and visiting hospital wards would have been commonplace, even scholarships would have been forced on students for slightest of ridiculous reasons that are unrelated to academic brilliance.
Our people are so gullible that they readily flock around them with their vuvuzelas and thus; they keep failing for these antics of our ambitious politicians, which in turn encourages our (politicians) emergency philanthropists to keep coming back every election year to become kindhearted- loving-messiahs of the same people they will ditch soon after they succeeded or failed in their political pursuit.
One young Abian has consistently defied this
age-long political gimmick of using tainted philanthropism to hoodwink the undiscerning.
He has, on many occasions during this period of hyperinflation and economic meltdown reached out to the needy through his foundation, "Enyioma Foundation INT’L
I do not know him personally but I have always admired his heart of giving from a distance. My discreet findings, exposed a youth whose good-deeds are pure and not politically motivated. I was reliably informed that he harbours no such intention to run for political office any time soon, but i queried and dared ask; why not?
All political heavyweights in the state today, Unarguably rose through political patronage to prominence, therefore, there is dire need to infuse a blend of younger people with a different kind of orientation and approach to politics. Can we get a different result by doing same thing? NO.
Time to beam the search light on young people like Enyinnaya Duke Ako Atulomah for a new political frontier.
